Bryan Norcross, the Hurricane Specialist at WPLG-TV / Local 10 in South Florida, presents a video about a possible category 3 hurricane may or may have not made landfall at Miami, Florida in 1888.
Historical records show that a strong hurricane made landfall very close or right on Miami Beach on August 16, 1888, with sustained winds of 125 MPH and sending a storm surge up to 14 feet along the coastline and inland. The only problem is that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) doesn't seem to have it recorded in their logs. Bryan goes through the records and reports to confirm if the story is true or false.
